Important: Sling Safety

There have been some concerns raised about the use of “bag” slings, particularly the Infantino Slingrider. Recently there has been a death through “positional asphyxiation” in the US involving this particular brand of sling.

Please can I remind all sling users that it is very important to ensure that your baby has space (at least two adult fingers worth) between their chin and chest and that when using a sling, your baby’s face is not covered by material or your body.

This advice also applies to the use of infant car seats, is particularly appropriate to newborn babies, who have little or no head control.

The sling in question is available in the UK,  please feel free to get in touch if you have any concerns regarding this post.
