We’ve changed the date for the December slingmeet and nappuccino to the 13th as many of Reading’s schools will be breaking up on the 20th.
So we’d like to invite you all to a Christmas meet, with mince pies and mulled wine.
I should also mention that the incomparable Marjorie (our librarian) is retiring at the end of this year, so we would like to say thank you to her for all her help and support.

We’ve had some feedback about our Battle Library Slingmeet and have changed the date to the third Tuesday of the month. So for the summer we will meet on Tuesday, 19th July and Tuesday, 16th August.
Also, Miranda from Twinkle on the Web has joined us to provide information and advice on reusable nappies and the cash back schemes you can use through your local council.
We hope to see you there.
We have decided to simplify the sling hire rates and deposits. From today there is a monthly fee of £5 per sling hired and a refundable deposit of £40 (either cash or cheque).
All monies go towards updating the library and if anybody has any requests or suggestions, please do email us.
We’ve got a couple of Slingmeets lined up for May.
Firstly, with the beautiful weather we’ve been having Claire has arranged a meet at Beale Park for Friday, 6 May from 11am.
Beale Park is a lovely children’s animal park, with some great play areas, a train ride and lots to see (the raccoons and skunks being my favourite).
There is an admission charge for adults and children over the age of 2 yrs, it’s well worth bringing a picnic, tho there is a cafe AND if it’s hot bring swimming costumes and sunscreen for the children as the paddling pool is hard to resist.
Secondly, we will be having our usual meet at Battle Library on Tuesday, 10 May from 11am. I will be running both the meet and the library, so I’d ask everyone with any experience to pitch in and help.
